Benjamin wrapped in his blanket August 4, 2010

Lee sent me this after he got the blanket. Looks like Benjamin will be nice and warm in his new blanket. And he also let me know that the colors matched the nursery perfectly. So another happy baby!

Green and brown accent baby blanket July 22, 2010

This blanket was made for one of the guys I work with. His wife just had their first child. They wanted the sex of the baby to be a surprise so they went with the colors green with brown accents for the nursery. He brought in one of the items from the room so I could do my best to match the color. The blanket was knit entirely with the green in a pattern that I’ve done before. To incorporate the brown, I went back after finishing the blanket and weaved the brown into every other stripe of the blanket. I’m really happy with the way it turned out and can’t wait to give it to him for his little boy (they had the baby a few weeks ago).

Little girl baby booties June 7, 2010

I made these for a friend of my boyfriends. I liked the cause they had a button instead of a draw string Luke most bootie patterns. I had to cut the pattern in half because when I followed it exactly at first the bootie came out gigantic. And as I was sewing the buttons on it dawned on me that I accidentally made them for the same foot. I doubt the little baby will care but I found it humorous. That will teach me to rush and try to wing it on the pattern. Haha

Baby Blanket – Blue squares April 22, 2010

This is the latest baby blanket I finished. My boyfriends co-teachers’ wife just had a little baby boy and I made this one for them. Most of the blankets I make are pretty big so that the little ones can be wrapped up good with it and can grow with it. Looks like this one swallows this little guy. haha at least he will be warm. This one I did a raised “B” pattern in alternating squares since their last name starts with a “B”. As always the yarn used is machine washable (I don’t understand making anything for a baby that can’t be thrown in the wash). Hopefully he will keep it for years and it will keep him cozy. :)

Riley wearing his new mitts! February 23, 2010

I know I already posted a picture of the no-scratch mitts I made, but Courtney just posted this picture of Riley wearing them and I thought it was just too cute! They turned out to be just the right size and they are so soft that he doesn’t seem to be fighting to get them off. Hopefully they will keep him from scratching himself. And because they are so soft they can double as a little pillow for him :)

Baby boy No-scratch mitts February 18, 2010

I knit these little no scratch mittens for Courtney’s little boy. Apparently he has already found his thumb and they don’t want him to scratch himself. These took no time at all to make, but I decided to use some fun fuzzy yarn to make them. They are super soft and knit on pretty small needles so they should work perfectly for little Riley and keep him from scratching.

Blue Boy baby blanket February 17, 2010

This blanket is one that I made for my friend in Nashville who had a little boy a almost a year ago. I love this pattern becuase it looks a lot more complicated than it actually looks. I love the faux cables and have used them in a couple other projects. I also did this pattern in a dark blue for one of my co-workers. Her sister’s nursery theme was a boating, kind of cape cod theme, so the cap cod blue worked really well.

Knit baby booties February 15, 2010

These are some baby booties I made for a friend of mine who just had her first baby a few days ago. They turned out a little bit bigger than I was hoping, so next time I will probably use a smaller needle size. They didn’t take very long to make so these may become my standard baby gift to my friends who all seem to be having boys these days.
