Knit Garden Afghan February 16, 2010

So a few months ago I found out that Vanna White hosts a knitting competition with some pretty decent cash prizes. I decided to make this Afghan as a Christmas present for my mom and to enter it into the competition. This pattern is actually one I pieced together myself off of some other patterns I had stumbled upon. I had to use the lionbrand Vanna White yarn, which turned out pretty nice. It didn’t take too long to make this afghan since it is made in pieces so it didn’t feel overwhelming. The purple flower octagons each took about two hours to make while the green leaf squares took about 45 minutes each. The tough/tedious part was sewing it all together and then doing the blue and green border. Mom seems to really like, now lets just hope I win something in the competition with this one!!
