So when trying to decide what to knit/crochet for my sister for Christmas, I thought, what would be better than a comfy pair of slippers for her to wear around her dorm room. I was slightly disappointed with the pattern selections so I used a basic pattern and changed it till I liked it. The soles of the slippers are actually brown on the bottom but blue on the inside which I thought added a nice touch. I found this flower pattern and not only used it for these but used it for three other projects as well. I love the layering of the flower and that it can be two toned. I’m really happy with how these turned out and I must say they are rather comfortable. Hopefully they will get some good use around the dorm at Auburn.

Altered Confusion Gaming gloves January 3, 2011
So when deciding what to knit my brother for Christmas I thought, what would be better than gloves he could wear while gaming! My brother is an avid video gamer and has his own game review/webcomic website called Altered Confusion. He is always wearing his Altered Confusion T-shirts around for advertising so I thought these gaming gloves could be a perfect addition. I was worried at first that the gloves would go to far down his fingers, but luckily he has super long fingers so they will not restrict game play. The colors of his website are red and white so that made color selection rather easy. These were relatively quick and easy, the hardest part was laying out the grid for the letters and knitting that into the pattern. But I’m happy with the way these turned out.
Julie’s Scarf January 2, 2011
For Christmas this year, everyone got hand knit/crochet gifts using up some of the yarn in my stash instead of buying up more, (which made Larry very happy). I found this pattern on ravelry and loved it! It is a short scarf that is made with a hidden loop to keep the scarf in place, (the loop is hidden behind the flower). It was a quick easy pattern and took hardly any time. I picked this color because I thought it would complement my sister-in-law well. Plus this yarn was rather bulky which I think worked really well for the pattern. She showed it off to her mom and sister and it looks like I’ve already got a couple orders already
.
Snowflake garland December 8, 2010
Yay for Christmas decorations! I found some yarn when I was out that was white with a silver shimmer to it and just new I had to find the right Christmas decoration to make with it. I found this pattern in one of the millions of craft and knitting emails I get. I love the way it turned out and with the lights on the garland the silver sparkles. I still have some of the yarn left and am not sure what I’ll use it for, but for now I’ve got to get working on Christmas presents for the family instead of making more decorations
Archie’s stylin sweater November 4, 2010
With the weather getting cold… I figured Archie could use a very stylish sweater to keep him warm. I love the pattern I found on Ravelry with the the really cute pockets. I realize he has no need for pockets, but they just look so cute. The collar part of his sweater also buttons like the pockets which makes it easier to get him in it. Now if Larry would let me make one for Pudge I totally would, but I’m not allowed to dress Pudge up haha. Guess he will just freeze while Archie stays warm.
Larry’s Hat October 12, 2010
So last winter/spring, Larry and I went to blue ridge and got some yarn from the store up there. Larry picked out this yarn demanding a hat. Lucky for me he is very hot natured and it was already to warm at that point to wear a hat. Now that the temperatures are going down, the demands for the hat returned. So over the weekend I knit this up real quick so that there will be no more complaining
. Now we will see if he actually wears it. haha
Pink stroller blanket with crochet border September 23, 2010
One of my sorority sisters is having a baby next month and contacted me about making a smaller blanket, more of a car seat or stroller blanket. I found this pattern and got to work. When i finished I wasn’t entirely happy with the blanket, so I decided to add a crochet border to it that mimicked the shell curve pattern in the blanket. I love the way it turned out. I’m getting much better at improvising with crochet instead of being stuck on doing exactly what the pattern calls for. I mailed the blanket to her when i finished and she loves it. Hopefully the little Glunt nugget when she arrives will love it too!
Gamma Phi Bear September 20, 2010
My little sister is a Gamma Phi at Auburn. Since she is a Sophomore she will be getting a little sis this year. So i decided to crochet her a teddy bear and knit it a gamma phi sweater in their colors so that she could give it to her new little once she finds out who that is going to be. The bear is crochet, which is a patter I’ve never used before and may use the next time i need to do some wedding bears. the sweater is knit and came out a little big for the bear, but I still like it. In the future if I make more of these I may just get some felt greek letters to sew onto the back instead of trying to knit them in with the brown cause that took quite some time and planning in order to do it. I hope her little loves it and maybe some other sorority girls will want to buy one for their own littles.
Hot pink wrist warmers September 12, 2010
So when ever I get in bed to knit my hands always end up freezing since my fiance likes to keep the temperature down when we go to sleep. I’m excited to have these around so that my hands won’t freeze but i’ll still be able to do my knitting! This were really quick and easy and I did it as my little project for the weekend to relax and de-stress.
Benjamin wrapped in his blanket August 4, 2010
Lee sent me this after he got the blanket. Looks like Benjamin will be nice and warm in his new blanket. And he also let me know that the colors matched the nursery perfectly. So another happy baby!
